This International Standard specifies a method of
test’) for the determination of the combustibility performance of a building material under specified
conditions.
SAFETY WARNING - So that suitable precautions
are taken to safeguard health, the attention of all
persons concerned in fire tests is drawn to the
possibility that toxic or harmful gases may be
evolved in the combustion of test specimens.
This method of test is intended for the testing of
building materials but is not applicable to the testing
of products which are coated, faced or laminated. In such cases, tests may be carried out separately on the individual materials from which the product is
formed and this shall be clearly stated in the test
report. The performance of coated, faced or laminated products may also be assessed by other reactions to fire tests (see annex B, clause B.l).
